You can help:   You do not have to be a part of the BETA organization to help out around the city. You can, like millions of other students and adults in America, volunteer individually. The links below will take you to some sites to help you along the way. Take part in supporting the BETA motto, lead by serving others.
VOLUNTEER MATCH   VolunteerMatch is the nonprofit, online service that helps interested volunteers get involved with community service organizations throughout the United States. Volunteers enter their ZIP code on the VolunteerMatch web site to quickly find local volunteer opportunities matching individual interests and schedules. This simple, effective service has already generated hundreds of thousands of volunteer referrals nationwide.
VOLUNTEER SOLUTION   Volunteer Solutions is a Volunteer Matching Application, owned by United Way of America, that helps Volunteer Centers connect individuals to volunteer opportunities in their community. Volunteer Solutions has four main constituencies: individual volunteers, nonprofit agencies, corporations and Volunteer Centers.
CITY HARVEST   City Harvest, a non-profit organization founded in 1981, is the largest and oldest food rescue program in the world. Help them in their effort to rid hunger by filling out their volunteer application online.
AMERICAN RED CROSS   The American Red Cross is looking for volunteers to help serve the community on weekdays, weekends, and nights. They offer exciting volunteer positions in a wide range of areas -- from making telephone calls to the elderly to managing emergency shelters during disasters.
MARCH OF DIMES   March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight. Help support their mission by volunteering or donating.
AIDS WALK NEW YORK   AIDS Walk New York stands out as a model of community action and cost-efficient fundraising. The priority has always been to have the money raised go directly to vital services to help people living with HIV or AIDS. Volunteer or donate to their cause.
CHILDREN'S DEFENSE FUND   Children's Defense Fund's national headquarters in Washington, D.C. offers a wide range of unpaid internships and volunteer opportunities for students and recent graduates who would like to receive academic credit and valuable work experience in the nonprofit/public interest sector. Our internship program aims to recruit emerging child advocates from a wide spectrum of academic fields including those related to health issues.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS   Special Olympics is an international organization dedicated to empowering individuals with mental retardation to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. Special Olympics offers children and adults with mental retardation year-round training and competition in 26 Olympic-type summer and winter sports. Make a donation or get involved
